CREW CHOSE WHITMAN CAPT.

OPPORTUNITY TO TRY FOR PLACE ON UNIVERSITY EIGHTS CLOSES TODAY.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University crew has elected Frederic Bennett Whitman '19, of Cambridge, to succeed Captain R. S. Emmet '19, of last year's crew, who has not returned to College. Captain Whitman rowed No. 6 on his Freshman crew and has held a seat in the University boat for the last two seasons.

More men are wanted for both Freshman and University rowing. It is announced that today is the last opportunity for men to go out for University rowing. Those desiring to do so should report at the Newell Boat House at 4 o'clock this afternoon when they will be given a chance to row either on class or boat club crews. Coaching to men in single shells will begin soon, and it is hoped that many men will come out for this branch of rowing.
