Spring track practice will begin Monday, when candidates for the University and Freshman teams will meet at the Locker Building at 2.30. All students interested in this sport are urged by the management to report, whether or not they have had previous experience. Men are needed particularly in the field events and the 440 yard run.
The University team will be represented at the Penn. Relay Carnival which will be held at Philadelphia April 25-26. Individuals will probably be entered in the 56 pound weight throw, 16 pound shot-put, pole-vault, sprints, hurdles, and jumps. The first dual meet of the season scheduled to be held in Cambridge will take place on May 3, when the University team will meet M. I. T.
Prospects for a successful season are considerably enhanced by the return of several undergraduates prominent in track athletics during the past few years. Among these are D. Hutchinson '19, captain of the 1919 track team, C. G. Krogness '21, captain of the 1921 team, and B. Lewis '20, captain of the University team last spring until he entered the service. W. Moore '18 and F. C. Church '20, will add strength to the team in the dashes and jumps.
The competition for second assistant track manager will also begin Monday. Candidates from the Class of 1921 will report at the H. A. A. at 1.30. The second assistant managers of both track and cross-country will be chosen at the end of the competition on the date of the Intercollegiates, May 31.
