Fifty men turned out for the University and Freshman Wrestling Tournament, of whom thirty-five were upper-classmen. Almost all the preliminary bouts were completed Monday with the result that the final bouts will be staged today.
In the University tournament bouts in six classes were scheduled, but as in the heavy-weights only one contestant appeared no bout was possible. H. M. Forbes '22 in the 125-pound class won the opening bout from O. M. Root '22 by a fall, and R. B. Varnum Unc. in the same weight also won by a fall. C. L. Wilson '20 and B. B. Corson Occ, each won in the 135-pound class, and in the next round Corson defeated Wilson in an exciting match. The other winners were R. T. Sloan Unc., R. N. Johnson '22, and J. Israelite '20, in the 145-pound class, F. C. Stetson Occ. and T. L. Parsonnet '22 in the 158-pound class, and T. L. Parsonnet '22 in the 175-pound class.
