To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

At the straw ballot held in September, 83 per cent, of those voting favored the ratification of some form of the League of Nations Covenant. During the five remaining days before the assembling of the new Congress, the Administration and the Senators are trying to ascertain public opinion on this vital question, and the above strong majority has now a chance to make itself felt. Every man in the University will have an opportunity to sign a petition to be sent to President Wilson, Senator Lodge and Senator Hitchcock, urging the reopening of debate, and the ratification of a compromise, which other nations can accept.

The time is short, but adequate. RALPH H. HOWE '19, IL.   SYDNEY FAIRBANKS 17, IL.
