The results of the psychological tests given to the members of the entering class at Brown showed an average rating between 65 and 70 per cent. The highest rank out of a possible 100 was 92, and the lowest 35.
The questions covered a wide range of subjects and studies, from an understanding of simple arithmetic to an idea of the classical arts. It was found that the highest average ranks as a class went to the A. B. men, while the special students averaged the lowest.
Accompanied by or replacing the customary examination, psychological tests have been given this year in a number of colleges all over the country. The idea of the tests is to assist the individual to select the branch of study for which he is host aired manfully.
