The Harvard Chess Club will open its season by playing the Bay State Chess Club this evening at the Union. The members of the team are E. W. Axe Occ., K. O. Mott-Smith Unc., F. P. Storke Gr. L.; C. W. T. Welden 1L.; E. G. Morse 1 G. B., and W. J. Hitchcock '21. Captain L. Hall will be unable to play in the match.
In addition to the Yale match on the evening before the Yale game, the following have been arranged with Metropolitan League teams, of which the University is a member: October 1, Bay State at Cambridge; November 7, Boston at Boston; November 14, Lighted Lamp at Lighted Lamp; November 28, City Club at Cambridge; December 12, Massachusetts Institute of Technology at Harvard; January 2, Bay State at Cambridge; January 2, Bay State at Cambridge; January 9, Boston at Cambridge; January 16, Lighted Lamp at Cambridge; February 13, Boylston at Cambridge; February 20, Massachusetts Institute of Technology at M. I. T.
