Announcement was made yesterday of the appointment of the Harvard Athletic Committee for the current academic year of 1919-20. The undergraduate members of the committee were nominated, according to the regular method, at a meeting of the captains and managers of the major sport teams held recently in President Lowell's office. These nominations have just been confirmed by the Corporation.
The new Athletic Committee as appointed by the Corporation consists of the following: Chairman, Dean Le Baron R. Briggs '75; Faculty Members, Chester N. Greenough '98, Acting Dean of Harvard College, and Roger I. Lee '02, Professor of Hygiene; Graduate Members, Henry Pennypacker '87, headmaster of the Boston Latin School; Benjamin L. Young '07, and Lawrence Curtis, 2nd, '16; Undergraduate Members, Robert Wales Emmons, 3rd, '20, of Boston, captain of the baseball team; Norman Stewart Walker, Jr., '20, of Staten Island, N. Y., captain of the hockey team, and William James Murray Occ., of Natick, captain of the football team.
