Lieutenant-Colonel Paul Azan, head of the French Military Mission to the United States and former active commander of the University's corps of French Military instructors, anticipates co-operation with Lieutenant Morize in commandng the maneuvers of the R. O. T. C. at Lancaster and Devens this summer. He declared this intention in a statement to the Military Office, expressing his satisfaction with the appearance and work of the regiment during his inspection of the troops in their drills and maneuvers at Fresh Pond. His statement was given out for publication yesterday by Headquarters.

"I was pleased to see the young men of the R. O. T. C. on the field," declared Colonel Azan. "Although I am very busy with my other camps I have not ceased to be interested in the training which Lieutenant Morize has given during the year of 1917-18. I was very favorably impressed today. I know that these young men have had only a few afternoons of drill with the whole regiment."

In speaking of the corps' coming period of summer training, Colonel Azan was keenly enthusiastic over the opportunities awaiting the regiment.

"The summer camp which is going to open near Camp Devens," he continued, "where they can profit by many of the advantages of the National Army Camp, and where I expect to work with Lieutenant Morize, will permit them to perfect still more their practical instruction, and to put to use all the theoretical training that they have received during the winter. Like their comrades of last year, they have enthusiasm, good will, and the spirit of discipline."
