1921 Victors in Fast Tennis

In a practice match yesterday afternoon the Freshman tennis team defeated the University players five matches to four. The members of 1921 presented the best game seen on the courts this season, playing strong net games throughout the matches. F. C. Hanighen '21 starred for his team, winning in both singles and doubles. The summary:

Singles.--F. C. Hanighen '21 defeated E. B. Benjamin '18, 6-2, 2 to 6, 6 to 2; F. M. Warburg '19 defeated L. A. de Turenhe '21, 2 to 6, 6 to 2, 6 to 4; E. D. Cumming '21 defeated A. A. Claflin '20, 1 to 6, 6 to 2, 6 to 4; A. E. Kirk '20 defeated W. W. Rice '18, 0 to 6, 6 to 4, 6 to 4; J. S. Levy '19 defeated G. W. Caner '21, 6 to 2, 6 to 4.

Doubles.--Hanighen and Turenne defeated Benjamin and Rice, 4 to 6, 6 to 4, 6 to 3; Claflin and Kirk defeated Cumming and Knox, 7 to 5, 3 to 6; W. T. Richards '21 and Weaver defeated Warburg and Levy, 5 to 7, 7 to 5, 6 to 3. Total score: 1921, 5; University, 4.
