Since the installing of a military library in the basement of University Hall, several new books and pamphlets have been received from the War Department, bringing the total number of volumes now at the disposal of students up to more than 1500.
At present the library contains many copies of all the important regulations issued by the War Department, including such books as the "Engineers' Field Manual," "Rules of Land Warfare," and "Landscape Sketching." A number of detailed maps of the western front are now on exhibition. There are also plans of the latest bombs and hand grenades and a collection of photographs illustrating trench life and warfare. F. W. C. Hersey '99, of the Department of English, is in charge of the library.
