Ensign William L. Barnard, an instructor at the Cadet School, First Naval District, which is now stationed at Holyoke House, has been secured to fill temporarily the position in the University School for Ensigns left vacant by the death of Lieutenant E. F. Greene. This officer received his training at the Naval Militia School in Boston and was commissioned in the fall of 1916. Upon the outbreak of war last spring, he entered active service and was detailed as executive officer on the U. S. S. Dupont.
