Thirty-four members of the Massachusetts Legislature hold degrees from the University, according to the statistics compiled by the Alumni Bulletin. In the Senate six of the 40 members hold University degrees, while in the House of Representatives, 28 of the 240 members have studied at the University.
Both the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House are graduates of the Law School. In addition, men from the University hold positions as the chairman of the Senate committee on railroads, municipal finance, military affairs and taxation.
