OARSMEN WORK HARD IN TANK

Dr. Denny to Have Charge of Physical Condition of Crews.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University and Freshman crews were given a stiff workout in the tank yesterday. Coach Haines paid special attention to the work of the individual men, emphasizing the importance of a strong catch and a hard drive with the legs. University A, in its workout in the tank, rowed together very well for this time of the season, and J. M. Franklin '18 at 4 appears to fit well in his new position. Coach Haines also gave the first Freshman boat a good 15-minutes in the tank. The men were chiefly coached in the rudiments, and Coach Haines carefully watched the men for signs of any elementary weakness. Beginning with March 15, Dr. Denny will be at the boathouse every Thursday afternoon in order to keep the oarsmen in the best possible condition.

The orders of the crews as they rowed yesterday were as follows:

University A.--Stroke, J. C. White '17; 7, D. Moody '18; 6, F. B. Whitman '19; 5, A. Coolidge '17; 4, J. M. Franklin '18; 3, H. B. Cabot '17; 2, R. R. Brown '17; bow, A. Potter '17.

University B.--Stroke, R. S. Emmet '19; 7, N. Brazer '18; 6, A. W. Pope '18; 5, F. Parkman '19; 4, Moseley Taylor '18; 3, T. H. Fisher '19; 2, R. T. Young '17; bow, N. P. Darling '17.

First Freshman.--Stroke, C. Mellen; 7, J. A. Burden; 6, G. Livingstone; 5, F. K. Bullard; 4, H. L. Whitney; 3, D. L. Withington; 2, G. R. Brown; bow, R. H. Bowen.
