At a meeting of the 1918 finance committee held last night, it was decided to extend the canvass for funds another week. Very little has been subscribed this year, and since $1,300 will be needed to cover all expenses, the money must be collected at once. The class has held two smokers as Juniors, the bills for which have not yet been paid and the class credit has been strained to the limit. All money must be in by March 26.
The date for the next 1918 smoker has been set for Friday, March 30. Since this will be the last smoker of the year, the aim of the entertainment committee is to make it the best. An innovation will be introduced by employing only class talent in the entertainment part of the program. But unless enough money is collected within the coming week to pay the expenses of the smoker, it will be definitely called off.
