SEVEN BUCKLES DOWN TO PREPARATION FOR TIGERS

In an hour of lively practice yesterday afternoon the University hockey team demonstrated that Saturday's defeat was not the beginning of a slump, but much hard work will be necessary during the next few days if the remaining games with Yale and Princeton are to result satisfactorily. Coach Winsor gave the players 20 minutes of shooting and passing in which the team had made a weak showing at New Haven. A half hour scrimmage followed between the first team and a team composed of the B. A. A. line and the second University defence. A considerable improvement in team play was evident, and the University forwards passed well and accurately. T. C. Thacher '18, back on the first team defence after two weeks rest, played exceptionally well, taking the puck the length of the rink several times. He shot the first goal after a pretty piece of them work between E. O. Baker '17 and T. H. Rice '17. Shortly afterwards G. A. Percy '18 took the puck through the second defence alone for the second tally, and R. H. Kissel '19 made the third on a snap pass from Rice. Later Percy caged a long shot from a position well in front of the goal. The scrub combination was able to score three times on the University backs.

The cut in the face which Captain Morgan received from a flying puck in the Yale game is healing rapidly and causes no difficulty in his playing.
