VOLUNTARY ROWING COMMENCES

Coach Haines to Direct Practice.--Freshmen Row in Tank.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Voluntary rowing for candidates for the University and Freshman crews will begin today under Coach Haines, who will be in the Newell Boathouse every afternoon from now on. It is important for all Freshmen and men who have never previously rowed to report regularly in order to acquire form and experience and all University crew men should get at least two days of work a week in order to get exercise and keep in good condition.

An innovation this year will be the use of the tank for the Freshmen during the voluntary rowing period. In former years they have not had the use of it until the regular rowing season had started. Regular rowing will begin immediately after mid-years when the other coaches will be on hand to assist Coach Haines.
