Cecilia Society Presents D'Indy's "Le Chant de la Cloche" at 8.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Cecilia Society, assisted by 70 members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Mr. Sembach, tenor, of the Metropolitan Opera Company, and Miss Mae Peterson, of the Opera Comique of Paris, will present "Le Chant de la Cloche," by Vincent D'Indy in Symphony Hall this evening at 8 o'clock. This is the first time the piece has ever been performed in America. Mr. Clifton, conductor of the Cecilia, is a former pupil of D'Indy and has himself sung in the chorus when the work was given in Paris three years ago under the composer's direction.

In a prologue and seven tableaux D'Indy depicts incidents in the life of Wilhelm, a master bell founder. The masterpiece of his career is a great bell which rings only after his death.

A special arrangement has been made whereby students of the University may procure 50-cent tickets for 25 cents upon presentation of some means of identification, such as Bursar's cards, Co-operative membership cards, etc. Other tickets may be purchased at prices ranging from $2 down.
