The University tennis team defeated Leland Stanford by a score of 3 to 0 on Divinity Field yesterday afternoon, in the last match of the spring season. Captain R. N. Williams, 2d, '16 defeated Hahn, the present Pacific Coast champion, in two deuce sets, 10-8 and 7-5. G. C. Caner '17 found Johns of Stanford easier, winning in two sets, 6-0, 6-2.
The doubles were very close, Williams and Pfaffmann winning the first set 6-4. Johns and Hahn won the second, 8-6, but the University players rallied and took the final set, 6-4.
This victory gives the tennis team a record of thirteen matches won and two lost this spring. All the college contests were won, the defeats being at the hands of the Longwood and West Side Clubs.
In the finals of the University doubles tournament Monday afternoon, J. Wooldredge '16 and R. Kennedy uC. defeated E. F. Whitlock '16 and H. Morgan '17, 0-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-3.
