BRAINARD SHUT OUT 1919 NINE

Freshmen Outbatted in Closing Contest on Opponents' Diamond.

The 1919 baseball team was defeated by the Yale freshmen, 4 to 0, at New Haven, yesterday afternoon. Yale batters found Felton for nine hits, as opposed to the six safeties gained by the University Freshmen, which included a pretty three-bagger by Burrill. Brainard, the Eli twirler, had little trouble in disposing of most of his opponents, and was, to a great extent, responsible for the shut-out. Brainard starred for Yale, while, for the University Freshmen. Burrill made a particularly good showing.
