Amherst Adopts New Honor System

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A new honor system constitution has been accepted by the students of Amherst College after nearly four months of discussion. The constitution provides for a committee, to be known as the Committee on Honor, which shall be in general charge of all matters pertaining to honor in the college. The constitution also explains what is to be deemed dishonorable, leaving the punishment for such offences in the hands of the committee. A feature of the new system is that instructors may require a pledge of honesty on any work.

The constitution, embodying the best features of two previously proposed, was adopted section by section, with a few minor amendments, at a mass meeting held last week.
