The University golf team lost to the Brookline Country Club on the latter's links yesterday afternoon by a score of 5 to 4. The summary of the match follows: Brown (B.) defeated J. G. Heyburn '16, 4 and 3; Chick (B.) defeated J. W. Hubbell '17, 4 and 3; L. H. Canan '17 defeated Gilbert (B.), 4 and 3; W. A. Flagg '19 defeated Claflin (B.), 2 up; G. A. McCook '16 defeated Alsop (B.), 2 up; F. I. Amory '17 defeated Dee (B.), 6 and 5; Hartwell (B.) defeated W. P. Hunt '16, 1 up; C. Amory (B.) defeated L. M. Lombard '17, 1 up; Geigar (B.) defeated F. R. Devereux '16, 1 up (19 holes).
The University team will go to Fall River today to contend with the Fall River Country Club. Tomorrow a match will be played with the Rhode Island State team at Providence.
