TEAM B DEFEATED A 5 RUNS TO 4

In the first practice game on the University diamond, Team B of the University baseball squad defeated Team A by a score of 5 to 4. Hardy of Team B held A scoreless for four innings, but Delano, who succeeded him, allowed four runs to be scored off him. In the fifth, Harrison tripled, and Wyche was passed and stole second. Both scored, when Delano's throw to West failed to catch Coolidge. In the eighth, with two out, Abbot singled. Then Ames dropped Harte's fly, Abbot reaching third and Harte second. Percy singled, scoring both.

Team B scored two runs in the first when Wiswall was passed, and Ellis doubled scoring Wiswall. Ellis scored when Ames singled. In the fifth inning, Reed got to first on an error and then stole second. Bothfeld doubled and Thomas scored. One more run was scored in the sixth when Ames doubled and reached third on an error. Safford singled, scoring Ames. B got its final run in the eighth inning. Ellis was passed and took second when Harrison threw Ames out to Knowles, coming in on Safford's single.
