Among the records of the 15 or more guns in the trap-shooting on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon were some very creditable scores, considering the early season, a number of the results reaching the 80 per cent mark.
A practice shoot will be held on Soldiers Field, next Monday, at 3.30 o'clock, and during the next two weeks, similar shoots will be held twice a week, probably on Mondays and Thursday, or on other days which may prove more convenient, at 3.30 o'clock. By holding the shoots at this hour, it is hoped that no afternoon classes will be interfered with. It is purposed to have both a University and a Freshman team which will hold practice matches. Weekly shoots with gun clubs in and about Boston will be arranged. The main objective, however, will be the intercollegiates, which will be decided on or about June 1. New automatic traps have lately been installed in the pits on Soldiers Field, and all shoots will be run as economically as possible.
