COLBY NINE OPPONENTS TODAY

UNIVERSITY BALL PLAYERS MEET STRONG VISITING TEAM AT 4 O'CLOCK.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University baseball team will meet Colby on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock. The home nine has been playing mid-season ball so far and is in excellent condition. The hitting and fielding of the team has been exceptional and far in advance of the ordinary considering the length of time practice has been held outdoors. Coach Mitchell has not yet selected his pitcher, but he will probably start Whitney or Harrison on the mound.

Colby's team this year is stronger than the team which the University defeated last year by a score of 5 to 1. Its season so far has been very successful, and their strength will insure a close game.

The Colby nine will reach Boston from Waterville, Maine, early this morning and will stay at the Quincy House. The game this afternoon is the first on their spring trip.

The batting orders are as follows: HARVARD.  COLBY. Coolidge, c.f.  s.s., Cawley Nash, 1b.  3b., Driscoll Knowles, l.f.  l.f., Ashworth Harte, c.  r.f., Daisy Abbot, 2b.  c.f., Allen Fercy, r.f.  1b., Smith Beal, 3b.  2b., Nye Reed, s.s  c., Knox Whitney, p.  p., Gately, Mathews
