With more favorable weather conditions 20 more candidates turned out yesterday for spring football practice, increasing the total to 45. Coach L. H. Leary '05 gave the squad a short blackboard talk before taking them to the field. Captain H. H. Dadmun '17 had charge of the linemen and gave them easy practice in starting. He was assisted by D. J. Wallace '16 and J. K. Selden '16. The ends were instructed in catching forward passes by C. A. Coolidge '17. Several groups of backs were made up and put through rudimentary work. Temporary teams A and B were then formed and had a light drill. The afternoon's work was concluded by a run around the Stadium.
The teams temporarily chosen were as follows:
Team A: Murray Taylor, q.b.; Day, c.; Gersumky, Gundry, and Mosher, backs; Hartley and Storer, ends; Leighton, Lancaster, Hull and Dean, line.
Team B: A. W. Gardner, q.b.; Sagar, c.; Thacher, McElwain, and Appleton, backs; R. B. Brown and Coolidge, ends; Mackie, Lovell, Duncan, Dewant, and Rudeman, line.
The rest of the squad not on the three teams was formed into a separate team.
More candidates from the Freshman class are needed for second assistant football manager, and those coming out now will not be handicapped.
