SECONDS TIE 0-0 WITH GROTON

Slippery Ball and Strong Line of Opponents Prevent Scoring.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University second team played a 0-0 game with Groton yesterday at the latter's field. The ground was slippery and the ball difficult to handle. Groton's strong line held well throughout the game, and the second team backs found difficulty in making consistent gains. In the third quarter the second team was held for down on Groton's five yard line, an attempted forward pass failing on the fourth down. Again in the last quarter, Groton intercepted a forward pass on the 20-yard line, and prevented a score. Groton came near scoring in the second period, when the seconds held for downs on their own four-yard line.
