The report of the outgoing treasurer of the Union shows a decrease in the deficit to less than one-third its size last year; and this is in spite of smaller receipts. Various house economies have been made, especially in the lighting bill, through the installation of mazda lamps. Moreover, the service offered has been somewhat improved; and a more attractive series of lectures given. For all of this last year's management is to be congratulated.
