The University delegation to the summer military camp at Plattsburg, N.Y., was larger than that from any other institution. Out of a total of 612 college men, 84 were Harvard undergraduates, and in the business men's section which totalled 1300, nearly one-third were Harvard graduates. The camp this summer was very successful in every particular; the usual rigid discipline and careful instruction was in order, and an unusually large number of men were recommended as commissioned officers of volunteers. The season closed with at 75 mile march which was filled with maneouvering of every description.
President Lowell visited the camp at the height of the season and spoke on the value of military preparedness.
