New York, N. Y., June 16.--Yale defeated Princeton 4 to 3 in the third game of the league series at the Polo Grounds, New York, this afternoon. LeGore brought in the winning run on Hunter's single in the eighth. Yale made its four runs mainly by four hits off Deyo while the Princeton batters were able to score only three runs on their seven hits.
Douglas, of Princeton, made three of the four errors against his team at first base, while Yale committed only two errors. The Blue scored one run in the first, fifth, seventh and eighth innings; and Princeton scored twice in the third and once in the sixth. The batteries were Way and Hunter for Yale and Deyo and Kelleher for Princeton.
