After a number of annual matches all of which have terminated in ties, the University golf team decisively defeated the Fall River Golf Club 4 to 3 at Fall River on Saturday afternoon. This year's match would also probably have resulted in a tie had not the University taken seven men along, thus making an even count impossible. The Fall River match was played as follows: E. P. Allis '15 won from McWhirr (5 and 4), Captain J. G. Heyburn '16 lost to Wood, (1 and 2), L. H. Canan '17 won from Smith (3 and 2), G. A. McCook '16 won from Harrison (3 and 2), J. W. Hubbell '17 lost to Borden (1 down), H. D. Bassett '18 won from Rogers (1 up) and J. I. Wylde '17 lost to King (1 down).

The remaining 18 holes of the 36 for the University championship between. E. P. Allis '15 and H. D. Bassett '18 will be played at the Oakley Country Club this afternoon. The first 18 holes were won by Allis 6 up.
