Spring football practice will close with a game between the "Reds" and the "Blacks" on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Practice began on April 5 and has been held practically every day under the direction of Coach Haughton assisted by Captain E. W. Mahan '16, W. H. Trumbull, Jr., '15, J. A. Gilman, Jr., '16, F. J. Bradlee, Jr., '15, T. J. Coolidge, 3d, '15, and F. B. Withington '15. Dummy scrimmages, kicking and passing drills, and elementary principles were rehearsed in the first two weeks and there have been three long scrimmage sessions this week. Coach Haughton has laid especial emphasis on open, passing plays, and these have been used chiefly by the "Reds."
The coaches intend to give every man who has been out a chance in the game this afternoon. The teams will line up at the start in the following order:
Reds.--Centre, L. B. Day; guards, Leighton and Duncan; tackles, Dean and Dadmun; ends, Coolidge and Nelson; quarterback, Doherty; backs, McKinlock, Woodruff, and Gersumky.
Blacks. -- Centre.--Francis or de Rham; guards, Snow and Townsend; tackles, Wentworth and Hartley; ends, White and P. Day; quarterback, M. Taylor or Gardner; backs, Robinson, Horween, and Logan.
