TO OPEN SOLDIERS FIELD COURTS

All Tennis Grounds Ready Next Week.--1917 Managers Called Out.

Contrary to the plans of last week, it will be possible to have the courts on Soldiers Field open by the middle of next week. Work is being pushed forward rapidly and unless there is an unexpected change in the weather, at least 16 courts will be ready by next Wednesday. All the Jarvis Field courts are now in use. The opening this year is nearly three weeks earlier than last.

Candidates from the Sophomore class for the position of second assistant manager of the University tennis team will meet in the H. A. A. Office Monday afternoon at 5.30 o'clock. This is the last athletic managership open to the class of 1917. No previous experience is necessary.

Candidates for the managership of the Freshman tennis team will meet in the H. A. A. Office on Friday, April 2, at 5.30 o'clock.
