In all probability one row of courts on Jarvis Field will be ready for use this afternoon, although they will not be in very good condition. Work has been pushed forward as rapidly as possible during the past week and by Saturday it is hoped that all the courts will be in shape for play. The only thing that can postponed the beginning of play is a sudden change of weather. The courts on Soldiers Field will not be ready until after the Easter vacation.
The opening of the courts this year is nearly three weeks ahead of last year when they opened the first week in April. The regular fees will be charged again this year and the same rules will be observed. Announcement of the opening of the other courts will be made later.
