BOSTON MAY RETAIN TROPHY

Grand Challenge Cup Won by University Second Crew Cannot be Returned to England During War.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Although the stewards of the Henley royal regatta have announced that the regatta scheduled for the first of next July will not be held, no definite arrangement has as yet been made regarding the disposition of prizes which the University second crew captured the grand challenge cup.

According to the written agreement of Rule 27, the cup must be returned to the stewards on or before June 1. It is practically impossible to live up to the agreement owing to the conditions in Europe, and it is also impossible to get into communication with the stewards, since they are engaged in the war. It is a general opinion, however, that it would be satisfactory if the trophy were retained in Boston until after the war.
