The University swimming team was defeated 38 to 15 by Phillips Andover in the latter's tank yesterday afternoon. Especially fast times and close events marked the meet. For the University A. Dixon '16 and H. Wentworth '17 were the only men to win first places. The results were as follows:
Relay race.--Won by Andover: Bradley, T. Kingsbury, Mayer, Captain Fitzgerald; University: J. W. D. Seymour '17, W. T. Jenney '17, H. Wentworth '17, Captain B. M. Fullerton '16. Time, 1 minute, 46 1-5 seconds.
50-yard dash. -- Won by Fitzgerald (A.); second, Bradley (A.); third, Fullerton (H.). Time, 26 2-5 seconds.
100-yard swim.--Won by Fitzgerald (A.); second, Wentworth (H.); third, Pratt (A.). Time 1 minute.
200-yard swim. -- Won by Wentworth (H.); second, Searle (A.); third, Mayer (A.). Time, 2 minutes, 38 2-5 seconds.
Plunge.--Won by A. Dixon '16 (H.); second, Peters (A.); third, Strout (A.); Distance, 57 feet.
Diving.--Won by Kingsbury (A.); second, Gould (A.); third, W. L. Monro '16 (H.).
