Boxing Enthusiasts to Convene This Evening

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

There will be a meeting for all those interested in boxing in the Trophy Room of the Union this evening at 8 o'clock. The purpose of this meeting is to make definite plans for a proposed boxing tournament.

The plan at present is to hold two tournaments in the latter part of February, one for upper classmen, the other for Freshmen, if the consent of the proper authorities be obtained. In order to eliminate, so far as is possible, the element of physical danger, an especially heavily padded glove will be used and the number of rounds to each tournament match will be limited to the point of perfect safety.

Furthermore, before entering the ring, each boxer must pass satisfactorily a test of his physical fitness. No man shall be permitted to enter either tournament until he has demonstrated to the boxing instructor that he has the ability to perform with some degree of proficiency.
