HARVARD LEADS IN SEVEN SPORTS

Yale Has Captured Five of Fourteen Series, While Two Are Tied.

Complete records in 14 sports in which Harvard and Yale teams have engaged show that in the several series, the University leads in seven, Yale in five, while two are divided. The seven sports in which the University excells are baseball, hockey, tennis; soccer, cross-country, fencing, and indoor relay. The series credited to Yale are football, crew, golf, wrestling, and shooting. Track and lacrosse stand at a tie.

In baseball Harvard has won 25 series to their rivals 18, although the Blue has won the majority of games, having won 67 and lost 63. Hockey shows a decided superiority for University sevens, for Yale has won but 7 out of 27 contests, and has been victorious in only 3 of the 16 series. The standing of the dual matches in tennis, gives the University a lead by 9 to 5. In the intercollegiate tournaments, University representatives have captured the singles honors 15 times and the doubles on 14 occasions, while Yale's standing in this respect is 6 victories in singles and 8 in doubles. Only 7 contests have been played between the two universities in soccer, University teams winning three times, losing twice, and tieing twice. The fencing series goes to Harvard 4 to 2. Two thirds of the dual cross-country runs have resulted in Crimson victories, the series standing 6 to 3. The indoor relay competition is much closer, Harvard having a bare lead with 6 victories out of 11 races.

Yale Leads in Football and Crew.

Yale has a big lead in the football, with 22 victories, 8 defeats, 5 ties, and one win by forfeit. Out of 48 dual contests on the water, Yale has won 26. In 9 other races in which both Harvard and Yale competed, the former came in ahead of the latter 6 times, thus giving Yale 29 victories, Harvard 28. Golf has brought 7 victories, 6 defeats, and one tie to Yale, while shooting has resulted in 22 victories and 17 defeats for the Blue.

In track each has won 12 dual meets. However, the University has won 13 intercollegiate meets while Yale has won but 9. In intercollegiate cross-country runs, each has one victory to its credit. Yale has won all three dual wrestling contests. Lacrosse has resulted in an even break in four contests.

Hockey (Games).--Harvard won 20, lost 7. (Series).--Harvard won 13, lost 3.

Lacrosse.--Harvard won 2, lost 2.

Relay.--Harvard won 6, lost 5.

Shooting.--Yale won 22, lost 17.

Soccer.--Harvard won 3, lost 2, tied 2.

Tennis.--Harvard won 9, lost 5. (Intercollegiate).--Harvard won singles 15, Yale 6; Harvard won doubles 14, Yale 8.

Track.--Harvard won 12, lost 12. (Intercollegiate).--Harvard won 13, Yale won 9.
