LATEST ENROLMENT FIGURES

REGISTRATION OF 4663 AGAINST 4392 IN 1914 SHOWN IN UNIVERSITY.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The figures printed below are the latest obtainable showing the registration in the University for the year 1915-16. It has been shown that in the early part of the term the figures, especially in the Graduate Schools, increase. In the College classification the item "Out of Course" refers to men who returned to College, for example, to make up a course or two lacking for their degrees.

The most striking feature of the enrolment is the increase shown by all the graduate Schools. The Graduate School of Business Administration leads with an approximate increase of 30 per cent. The Divinity School figures speak for the vitality of the theological department of the University, while the Law School, Dental School, and Medical School all show an increase of more than 10 per cent. The registration of Freshmen shows a slight decrease, due probably to the fact that last year was the initial year of the Freshman Dormitories. The figures show the enrolment of the University for 1914 and 1915 made on corresponding days of the new year.   HARVARD COLLEGE.   1914  1915 Seniors,  425  403 Juniors,  581  557 Sophomores,  575  670 Freshmen,  704  683 Special,  12  10 Unclassified,  115  141 Out of Course,  97  54   --  -- Total,  2509  2518   GRADUATE SCHOOL OF ARTS AND SCIENCES.
