Mr. Arthur Whiting and various assisting artists will give three concerts of chamber music under the auspices of the Department of Music in the John Knowles Paine Concert Hall on Wednesday evenings, January 20, February 10, and March 10 at 8.15 o'clock. On each occasion explanatory comments on the compositions will be made.
At the first concert the program will be composed of the works of Beethoven and Mr. Whiting will be assisted by Mr. Albert Spaulding, violinist, and Mr. Willem Duneux, cellist. At the second concert Madame Sundelius will present a program of classic and modern songs. The University Quartet of New York will sing four-part songs by Brahms and a cycle of old Scotch songs. It will be remembered that this quartet sang here last year, presenting the songs of Brahms and the Scotch melodies in a truly delightful way.
Course tickets for these concerts at $3 each, and single tickets for each concert at $1.25 each, will be on sale at Amee's bookstore on and after Saturday, January 9.
