WILL COMPETE AT NEW YORK IN FIRST INTERCOLLEGIATE CONTEST.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University Glee Club will leave Trinity Place at noon for New York to compete in the Intercollegiate Glee Club meet in Carnegie Hall this evening at 8.15 o'clock. This contest, in which the Glee Clubs of Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard and Pennsylvania will compete, will be the first of its kind in American college circles, and if the public gives it sufficient support, it is probable that it will be made an annual affair.

Each club will sign three selections, after which a committee of judges will award to the winning club a prize consisting of a library of choral music presented by Mr. R. E. Schirmer. The judges will be Mr. Arthur Mees, Professor Horatio Parker, and Mr. Arthur D. Woodruff. The program will be opened with an organ recital by Dr. A. T. Davison, Jr., '06, who will play (a) Romance, by Rheinberger, and (b) Joccata, by Widor.

The Harvard Glee Club will sing: "At Sea," by Buck, football songs, and the "Serenade," by Borodine. After the award of the prize the final number will be a rendering of the "Stein Song," by the one hundred and twenty voices of the competing colleges.
