SEVERAL CHANGES IN CREWS

LUND AS STROKE ON FIRST EIGHT AS RESULT OF SATURDAY'S RACES.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

As a result of Saturday's race several men were raised to the first boat and the former order was greatly shifted around. The most important change, was that of Lund who went to stroke on Crew A, replacing Chanler who took the former's place on Crew B. Parson replaced Harwood at 6 who went to 4, Gardiner rowing in Crew B yesterday. Schall, returning after a week's absence on account of sickness, replaced J. W. Middendorf at 5, and Curtis replaced Wilkinson at 3. Both crews seemed to work very smoothly under the new arrangement. The first crew used the English shell made by Sims & Co., which was ordered early this year and has just lately arrived. Later the first eight used their old boat, Crew B using the new one.

The orders of the two crews follow:

Crew A.--Stroke, Lund; 7, Soucy; 6, Parson; 5, Schall; 4, Harwood; 3, Curtis; 2, Talcott; bow, Reynolds; cox., Sargent.

Crew B.--Stroke, Chanler; 7, Meyer; 6, J. W. Middendorf; 5, H. S. Middendorf; 4, Gardiner; 3, Murray; 2, Morgan; bow, Saltonstall; cox., Kreger.

Second Freshmen Win.

The second Freshman crew won an easy race from the Middlesex School crew over a 1-2 mile course, up-stream yesterday afternoon. Getting the jump on the Middlesex crew at the start, the Freshmen slowly gained until at the finish they were leading by 2 and 1-2 lengths.

Following is the order in which the two boats rowed:

1917 Seconds--Stroke, Baker; 7, Eaton; 6, Lovell; 5, Richardson; 4, Whittemore; 3,--White; 2, Chadwick; bow, C. Coolidge; cox., Dewart.

Middlesex--Stroke Meyer; 7, Keays; 6, Hageman; 5, Parker; 4, C. Baker; 3, R. Baker; 2, Cleveland; bow, Barr; cox., Willis.
