The University lacrosse team lost the practice game with the Boston Lacrosse Club on Saturday afternoon by the score of 6 to 4. An inexperienced defence was largely responsible for the defeat, and from now until the regular season begins particular stress will be laid on the coaching of that department. P. Gustafson '12 and J. F. Foristall '13 starred for Boston, while the best playing for the University was done by F. E. Abbe '14, W. E. Nightingale '15, and P. Catton '15. The line-up was as follows: Goals--For Boston: Nichols, Parker, Alexander, Foristall, Penhallow, Gustafson; for University: Abbe, Catton, Nightingale, Wanamaker. Referee -- A. H. Onthank '14. Goal umpires -- R. B. Johnson '17, H. R. Anderson '16. Time of halves, 30 minutes. The first regular game will take place next Saturday, when the University will again meet the Boston Lacrosse Club, the game with Carlisle having been cancelled.
