FIRST 1917 SMOKER TONIGHT

The first of a series of 1917 class smokers will take place in the Dining Room of the Union at 7.30 o'clock tonight. Several of the class officers will explain plans for class activities during the remainder of the year. The other speakers will be W. J. Bingham '16, president of last year's Freshman class, C. F. Farrington '16, president of the Sophomore class, and Q. Reynolds '14, captain of the University crew.

This meeting offers to all first-year men an excellent opportunity to become acquainted with other members of the class and with the class officers. Last year the present Sophomore class conducted a most successful series of smokers which did much to promote class unity, and it is hoped that this year's may be made equally profitable. Light refreshments will be served.

Plans will be outlined tonight concerning the Freshman Red Book, the Freshman dinner, and the prospective class entertainments. The first meeting of candidates for positions on the board of the Red Book will be held in the Trophy Room of the Union at 7.15 o'clock tomorrow evening. A large number of men must come out in order to make a success of the book, which is a record of the class's activities during its first year in College.
