Professor W. R. Spalding '87, of the Music Department, will deliver the seventh lecture of his series on "The Evolution of the Art of Music" at the Lowell Institute this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock. The subject will be "Modern Symphonists and National Schools." The next and last lecture will be given at the Lowell Institute on Friday evening at 8 o'clock.

English Philosopher at Institute.

The ninth and last course of lectures at the Lowell Institute will be given by Bertrand Russell, M. A., F. R. S., of Trinity College Cambridge, England. The subject is "Scientific Method in Philosophy," and the first lecture, on the special topic "Diversity of Recent Tendencies in Philosophy," will be given tomorrow evening at 8 o'clock. It is open to the public.
