By Defeating Princeton Saturday Won Championship of League

By defeating Princeton by a score of 2 to 1 on Saturday the University of Pennsylvania association football team made sure of the championship of the Intercollegiate soccer league, although several games still remain to be played. Pennsylvania now has nine points, having won four games, tied one and lost none, as by the scoring system a victory counts two, a tie one, and a defeat nothing. Cornell and Harvard are next with six points each, but as the University has but one more game to play and Cornell's season is finished, neither have any chance of overtaking the leader. If the University team defeats or ties Columbia on Saturday it will secure second place.

The following is the standing of the five teams composing the league:   Won.  Tied.  Lost.  Points. Pennsylvania,  4  1  0  9 Harvard,  2  2  1  6 Cornell,  1  4  1  6 Columbia,  2  1  2  5 Princeton,  1  3  2  5 Yale,  1  2  2  4 Haverford,  0  1  3  4
