NOVICE MEET VERY SUCCESSFUL

Many New Gymnasts Unearthed in Various Contests Last Night.

At the annual novice gymnastic meet in Hemenway gymnasium yesterday evening, the Sargent Cup, given yearly by Dr. Dudley A. Sargent to the man winning the greatest number of points, was won by A. B. Bruce '1 with a total of 164. Bruce won the horizontal bar, the parallel bars, the flying rings, and tumbling. The next man was M. H. Reynolds '15, with 129 points, and the third was L. S. Hyde '18, with 119.

The result of each event was as follows:

Horizontal bar: First, A. B. Bruce '15, 47 points; second, M. Blanchard '18, 31 points; third, M. H. Reynolds '15, 30 points.

Parallel bars: First, A. B. Bruce '15, 30.5 points; second, M. H. Reynolds '15, 29.5 points; W. E. Sullivan '18, 29 points.

Club Swinging: First, T. A. Smith '18, 27 points; second, L. S. Hyde '18, 18 points; third, W. E. Sullivan '18, 15 points.

Side-horse: First, L. S. Hyde '18, 35 points; second, W. E. Hicks '18, 21 points; third, J. L. Hubbard '18, 19 points.

Flying rings: First, A. B. Bruce '15, 32.5 points; second, M. H. Reynolds '15, 25.5 points; third, W. E. Hicks '18, 18 points.

Tumbling: First, A. B. Bruce '15, 42.5 points; second, M. Blanchard '18, 39 points; third, M. H. Reynolds '15, 32.5 points.
