To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
In Saturday's CRIMSON you published a very clear argument against our absurd little Christmas vacation, but it seems to me that one other question might be raised on the subject, one pertaining to finances.
This year the European was has reduced every one to a state of comparative poverty, some to a state of absolute poverty. Now the eastern students pay from five cents to a few dollars to get home so can afford the trip even with the reduced recess.
To go West, however, costs from $75 to $200. The question naturally comes to a westerner: Is it worth the money in these hard times to go home for only these few days?
If this matter comes up before the proper authorities for consideration may the question of "getting our money's worth" have some effect on the decision. A. WESTERNER.
