Competitions in the news and editorial departments of the CRIMSON will open Monday, October 5. There are from six to eight positions on the news board open to members of the class of 1917, about half of which will be filled at this time. All Sophomores who wish to enter this competition will report in the office on next Monday evening at 7 o'clock. At this time the managing editor will explain their duties, which will be largely gathering University news.
The editorial writing competition will also start on Monday evening. This is open to Juniors only. There are one or two positions in this department to be filled as a result of the coming competition. The work will consist of looking up data for and writing editorials on topics of University interest.
