The competition for the position of second assistant manager of the University baseball team will commence today. Candidates from the Sophomore class should report at the office of the H. A. A. at 1.30 P. M. No previous experience in managing teams is necessary.
The competition will be run by eliminating candidates by a series of cuts until a small number of candidates are left, from which one will be chosen. The work will consist of both clerical work and work at the field. For the former, assignments of letter-writing, compiling statistics and records, planning trips, etc., will be given and the field work will probably not at first occupy more than three afternoons a week of each candidate's time. The ability of each candidate in handling the assignments given, him will be considered in making the cuts together with his work at the field.
