EXCUSED FROM ENGLISH A

73 Men, or 12 Per Cent., Received B or Better at Mid-Years.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Of the 600 students who took English A during the first half-year, 73 were excused from the remainder of the course at mid-years. This is a little over 12 per cent., and is very creditable in view of the fact that last year only 60, or 10 per cent., were exempted from a class of the same size.

Of the 73 excused, 39 are from public and 24 from private schools. No one school has a greater number than four, and only four schools have more than two. These are Volkmann 4, Pittsburgh Central High School 4. Morristown 3. and Andover 3.

The other ten students who were excused were either from other colleges, or had been in the University before this year.
